Okay, Sooo I am sad.

So today was my weigh and measure day.  And I am a little discouraged.  I need a little encouragement from you guys.
I weighed today exactly what I weighed when I started this week.
And I measured and I am exactly the same everywhere except for my thigh, which guess what? I actually gained an inch.   Now I have heard of not losing weight, because you gain muscle.  But to not lose inchs either? And actually gain one?  That just stinks.  So anyways, I am discouraged today.

I would keep at it. You didn't gain fat in your thigh thats for sure. Did you feel better before you weighed in about your self or just feel better and less shity all day over all then keep it up and try your best.

don't be discouraged or stress out, because that can affect your metabolism negatively. keep persevering and you'll get there. best of luck

Well, there's spikes for no reason a lot of times. Especially as a women, you're going to face a much harder time losing weight/inches. The only way you'll do it if you stick with it.

Don't get discouraged. Weight loss and working out isn't easy for everyone. Just keep at it and you will see changes soon. Sometimes your metabolism is just getting into sync, and it takes a bit longer. Keep u're head up.

Don't get discouraged. Take it from a body-builder; it takes time. Just keep at it. A week is minimal (no matter what ads say).

aw, keep up the good work and You'll be great

Dont think about it so much, think that the weight changes a lot, try weighting/measuring yourself as soon as you wake up (after the morning piss), by doing that you minimize the error

My wife does the WW thing and she has some weeks where she is super good with her points and still does not lose anything. Then there are some weeks where I am a bad influence yet she manages to still lose weight. There are so many factors involved in weight loss and fitness beyond the generic "eat this not that" and "EXERCISE!!! you grunt!" As my wife's WW coaches always tell her anyone who makes it through the holidays with no gain is doing great. I know from my own journal I didn't post every little chip I snacked on or peppermint I may have sneaked. Don't let one week throw you off track. I promise you over a 30/60/90 period you will see improvement.

Don't worry. You'll lose that again soon!

dont be sad. just go out, dont sit in front of tv or pc. run, play basketball, swim and you will see the results

Don't worry, you can't expect for that in just a week, the most important thing is that you don't give up, trust me, keep at it for 2-3 weeks more and you'll see

All that matters is exercising right and eating right :D

Too bad you're sad. I hope you feel better soon.

don't worry... muscle weighs more than fat, so you may actually gain weight and look bigger as your body builds heavy muscle under your adipose tissue... soon, the muscle will burn your fat away and you'll weigh less and be leaner... keep up the good work, love your posts!

You will have some low points in this process.

Remember that and you'll be fine.

don't be! you've only just begun. your weight and to some extent measurements will naturally fluctuate a bit each day. compare your weight/measurements each month, and you'll see the accurate trend.

also, notice your the shape of your body. my brother and sister-in-law have been doing crossfit with me for a year. she has lost little weight, but she is tone and has definition in her arms and legs. her stomach is flat.

depending on your program you may not lose much weight, but you will be much healthier and fit.

good luck!

Hey now!

It is fluctuation. You need a lot more time to really measure whether or not you are changing your body's structure and content.

All you have to do is burn more calories than you consume. That's it. If you are doing that then you WILL lose weight, if that is what you want to do.

Losing weight is not that great of a goal though if you are within normal weight ranges. Neither is losing inches. That stuff may or may not come, but just remember to eat healthy and stay active, and you will look and feel better and better every day.

you'll hit plateaus, it's just a part of it. keep on doing what you're doing.

The first month is when you gain, second is when you balance, and third is when you see improvement. Stick with it!

Don't be like that! Keep it up and the results will follow! :)

the problem is that most women try different diets without having exercises. You can try every in the world, without exercises it won't work.

ah, come on, one week is nothing, sometimes people just like randomly gain or loose inches, that just happens.

1 week wasn't enough to loose anything, and then that random 1 inch kicked in, you know. unlucky, but it's all a matter of motivation.

make it 2 weeks or 3 weeks and you'll loose that one inch and additional ones I'm sure :)

following you now btw :)

When you're exercising hardcore, you usually gain some before you start losing consistently. Building muscle will make you gain weight, and some inches in places, but for the long term it's a good thing.

More muscle means higher metabolic rates, and more fat that gets burned when you work out. You'll shed the jiggly stuff super fast when you get to a certain threshold.
